Building Permits & Inspections  

Building permits are needed for all new construction, additions, renovations, and structural changes. Before beginning any project, contact us. Tell us what you plan to do, and we will explain everything you need to know to have a safe and successful project.

Permit Applications

• Required Inspections (PDF) - Inspections that are required in City of Troy
• Commercial Building Permit (PDF) - Needed for new construction and additions
• Commercial Remodel Permit (PDF) - Needed for all repair and remodel projects
• Limited Use Permit (PDF) - ALSO SEE 'ADDITIONAL INFORMATION' BELOW Needed for carports; decks; demolition; electric service upgrades; pools and hot tubs; roof coverings over a deck or patio; season rooms without heating or air conditioning; sheds; and solar panel installations
• Mobile Home Permit (PDF) - Needed to place a mobile home in the city
• Residential Building Permit (PDF) - Needed for new construction, additions, and garages
• Residential Remodel Permit (PDF) - Needed for repair and remodel projects
