Identity Theft Training Seminar

6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
The Troy Police Department, in conjunction with the Department of Justice, is hosting a seminar on Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at the Wiesemeyer Center in the Tri-Township Park. Topics will include:
- What is "skimming" & "check washing" and how to prevent it.
- How to get your FREE credit reports and other free resources available as a resident of Illinois.
- How thieves steal your identity & what you can do to prevent it.
- What is the first thing you do if you become a victim and how to properly file a claim.
- SCAMS that are happening in our area right now.
- Exclusive resources available for senior citizens.
- Presentations and information will be from the law enforcement liaison with the Department of Justice, the I.R.S., U.S. Postal Inspectors Office, Secret Service, and local bank fraud department represenatives.
Door prizes donated by local banks and businesses and will be awarded to attendees.
Refreshments will be served.
